Strategies for controlling
Icy Roads
>Slipping on Ice
>Breaking equipment
>Rough driving
>Wear gripping shoes
>Make sure equipment is padded and protected
>Drive Carefully
Rain (Weather)
>Equipment could get ruined
>Models – makeup/outfit/hair could get ruined
>Cover equipment when not being used in waterproof gear
>Supply umbrellas/raincoats
Wind (Weather)
>Equipment (tripod) could fall over in the wind
>Hair could blow into models’ eyes
>Hold down – don’t leave equipment unattended
>Tell models to stand in direction of wind so hair is blown backwards – Tie up hair if it doesn’t ruin hairstyle
Rain damage (Equipment)
>Electrocution through damaged equipment
>Test equipment before use
> If wet – wait till dry before use
Cables/wires in the way
>Models/photographers trip over cables
>Label where cables are tape on the ground, move out of the way
Heavy Equipment
>Dropping heavy equipment
>Back injuries due to carrying heavy equipment
>Don’t unnecessarily carry more than you need
>Carry as advised
> if too heavy, ask for help!
Hypothermia/frostbite
>Model too cold to model
>Make model wear warm clothes off camera; only when on camera do they wear outfit.
